Best of Hungarian design to be exhibited in Vilnius

 

Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, bears the title of European Capital of Culture 2009 and attracts visitors with its many interesting programmes. The varied series of events includes a number of exhibitions each presenting the design of a particular nation. After Austria and France, starting on 5 September, Hungary will be the centre of attention for one month.

The Hungarian exhibition will showcase the winners of the Hungarian Design Award, 36 works in total. Everyday objects and utensils will be presented alongside innovative ideas and concepts still awaiting a prospective manufacturer.

The exhibition was realised with the collaboration of the Hungarian Design Council, the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary in Lithuania (Vilnius), the Hungarian Institute in Tallinn, the office of the European Capital of Culture programme in Vilnius and the Lithuanian Design Forum.
