The 66th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) commenced on 8 July 2025, where the representatives of the 194 member states of WIPO participate at the meetings of the highest-level bodies of the organization.
The delegation of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) is led by Mr Szabolcs Farkas, President. The Hungarian delegation includes Ambassador Zsófia Havasi, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the UN and WTO, Geneva.
On the margins of the Assemblies, the delegation of HIPO will have bilateral meetings with the national IP offices of China, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Albania and the Republic of Korea and will participate at several side events.
The event, attended by more than 1600 delegates, was opened by Mr Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO. In his opening speech, he noted that despite the serious problems and challenges in the world, the global innovation activity has remained resilient, the number of IP-related applications remains high. He referred to WIPO’s mission to protect and promote the human spirit of innovation and creativity, and to support the world’s innovators and creators. With the support of the IP community, WIPO has undertaken a journey of transformation to make IP relevant, concrete, and visible to all.
