IP co-operation between the Macedonian State Office of Industrial Property and the Hungarian Patent Office

 

 

 

At the invitation of Dr. Bajram Ameti, director of the Macedonian State Office of Industrial Property (SOIP), Dr. Miklós Bendzsel, president of the Hungarian Patent Office (HPO) and Ms. Judit Hajdú, head of the Patent Department paid a visit to the Macedonian Office from 28 to 30 August 2007.

The most important purpose of the visit was to sign the co-operation agreements between the two offices.
According to the first agreement, the parties will inform each other on the legislative developments in the field of the protection and promotion of innovative activities, as well as on the changes occurred in the organisation of their offices, will continue and extend their co-operation as regards the exchange of official industrial property publications, and will carry out exchange of experience in fields of interest.

Under the other agreement, the HPO will provide support to the SOIP in examination and search with regard to claimed inventions to enable the SOIP to make its decisions on the grant of patents in compliance with the laws in force in the Republic of Macedonia.

By visiting the organisational units of the SOIP, the Hungarian delegation could get an overall picture of the development of the Macedonian Office.
