HIPO-WIPO subregional Seminar on copyright

A subregional Seminar “Copyright in the Digital Age” was held in Budapest on 4 and 5 April 2017, jointly organised by the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Welcome speeches were addressed by Ms Sylvie Forbin, Deputy Director General, Copyright and Creative Industries Sector, WIPO, Mr Krisztián Kecsmár, State Secretary for Cooperation in European Union and International Justice Affairs, Ministry of Justice of Hungary, and Mr Viktor Łuszcz, President, HIPO. During the event recognised experts discussed the recent issues of copyright. The panel discussions included the economic relevance of copyright, the concept and right of communication and making available to the public, the online access to legal content and right holders remuneration, the online use of out-of-commerce works and national experiences, the copyright exceptions and limitations in the digital age.
